  • Shirley Heights boasts the best views in all of Antigua.  This mountain top took its name from General Shirley, Governor of all the Leeward Islands in the late 1700s.  From your perch high above Falmouth and English Harbours you’ll see the boats moored at anchor, the blue sea framed by the surrounding hills, and on clear days the islands of Montserrat and Guadeloupe in the distance, Montserrat’s active volcano belching smoke into the clouds at its peak.   The views from Shirley Heights are signature images of this beautiful part of the island, appearing on postcards, advertisements and websites of all kinds

Sundays are special days at Shirley Heights, because every Sunday afternoon a steel band plays at the summit patio, adults and children dance to the Caribbean beat, friends meet and families bond at this gorgeous blend of history and modernity.  Food and drink are plentiful, with indoor dining as well as outdoor barbecue on the beautiful stone patio, surrounded by a low stone wall suitable for sitting and enjoying the views and the music.

The sunsets here are the best on the island.  Come early and reserve your spot for this special occasion, suitable for children of all ages.
